Hydro-dynamic and geochemical assessment of three successive cutoff meanders of the Danube Delta

Abstract Hydrological and sedimentological data were collected on several cross-sections of both natural artificial canals three cutoff meanders (Mahmudia, Dunavăţul de Sus, Jos meanders) the Sfântu Gheorghe branch at beginning June 2017. The hydrological shows a heterogeneous distribution water discharges: Mahmudia Jos, most liquid flow passes through channels. In case Sus meander, cut meander is main transport channel for flow. statistical analysis chemical evidenced an excellent quality bottom sediments, with few parameters exceeding limits (for Ni, Cu, Cr). These results correlated measurements made each investigated cross-section.
